Music

Hey guys, this month we have been busy little bees over on FemaleFirst.co.uk/music, what with the tragic news of Michael Jackson's death, Steve Appleton popping into the office and out Band Wars music event... I think I need a large Mojito!

First of all, we have to remember the great King Of Pop, through our obituary, and our look at the way the BBC littered his memorial service with tasteless jokes.

On a happier note though, we did fall completely head over heels with Steve Appleton when he came in to "takeover" the music section last week. He reviewed a couple of singles, interviewed Vagabond (but forgot to record the actual interview) and performed an acoustic rendition of Dirty Funk... I've got to admit, I do love him a little bit, but I think my job is fairly safe of now!

The most exciting news this month has to be our massive FemaleFirst Band Wars event which takes place in Manchester on Sunday July 12! With four awesome bands fighting it out to be crowned victorious and win a weekend at 3 Sixty studios, help from momentum PR and a year's supply of Rockstar it promises to be an awesome night, even before our headline act, The Imperial Vipers take to the stage!

If you fancy coming to party with us all, and drinking the free Russian Standard Vodka that will be handed out during the event, then just drop us a line and we'll pop you on the list... if your name's not down, you're not coming in!

Keep it real.

Movies

With the release of Public Enemies it seems that the Oscar race has started a couple of months early.

So here at FemaleFirst we took a look at the movies that will be fighting it out for the Academy Awards in 2010, it seems that the rest of the year is going to bring us some corking movies!

Fashion

If you love our Style Steal features, like this one that showed you how to get Lady GaGa's sexy little black dress look, then keep your eyes on Female First this month as we have plenty more celebrity inspired outfits coming up including Megan Fox and Emma Watson.

Also we are hosting a fashion show alongside the Band Wars event so make sure you check out the pictures from the catwalk as well as all the gossip from behind the scenes in the fashion section next week!
